The Ascension of Jesus
Jesus' ascension, which took place on May 12, 33, on the Mount of Olives, brings his earthly ministry to a close. Lifted up in a cloud, he is welcomed into the Father's presence while two angels announce his glorious return. This event, recounted only by Luke, marks the transition to Christ's heavenly ministry and grounds the early Church's eschatological hope as it awaits the parousia.
John 20.17 (King James Version) :Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God.King James Version (1769), domaine public — texte : eBible.org
