The Apostles' Conversation with Jesus
Luke recounts Jesus' final conversation with his eleven apostles before the Ascension (Acts 1.4-8). Jesus orders them to wait in Jerusalem for baptism in the Holy Spirit, refuses to reveal the eschatological times reserved to the Father, and entrusts them with a universal mission: to be his witnesses from Jerusalem to the ends of the earth. This passage provides the structural outline of the book of Acts.
