The pilgrimage feasts

The Jews of that time were required to go on pilgrimage to Jerusalem for three main feasts, known as the Shalosh Regalim (the Three Pilgrimage Feasts). These feasts are:

Passover (Pesach): Commemorating the exodus from Egypt. Mentioned in Exodus 23.14-17 and Exodus 34.18-23. Celebrated on 15 Nisan 3792, that is, Monday 12 April AD 32.

Pentecost (Shavuot): Celebrating the reception of the on Mount Sinai. Mentioned in Exodus 34.22 and Deuteronomy 16.16. Celebrated on 6 Sivan 3792, that is, Saturday 29 May AD 32 (50 days after Passover).

(Tabernacles): Commemorating the Exodus and the end of the agricultural cycle. Mentioned in Exodus 23.14-17 and Deuteronomy 16.16. Celebrated on 15 Tishri 3793, that is, Thursday 7 October AD 32.

These feasts were important times when the Jews traveled to Jerusalem to take part in the festivities and rituals at the Temple. The law required every Jew to go to Jerusalem to make at least one pilgrimage, according to his financial means. They were meant to remind everyone, adults and children alike, of the great blessings God had granted to his people.
